On April 25, 2015 a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal subsequently over 200 major and minor after shakes have occurred. Almost 8600 people have lost their lives, countless of number of people have been injured. Almost a million homes have been destroyed and 8 million have been displaced this is almost a quarter of Nepal’s population. There is a dire need for medical supplies and shelter.
There is acute shortage of food and shelter. The upcoming monsoon season is putting people in temporary make shift shelter at more risk. There is grave risk of infectious disease outbreak including dysentery, cholera, bronchitis and measles. Children are particularly vulnerable.
