Nepal Earthquake

On April 25, 2015 a
devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal subsequently over 200 major and
minor after shakes have occurred. Almost 8600 people have lost their lives,
countless of number of people have been injured. Almost a million homes have been
destroyed and 8 million have been displaced this is almost a quarter of Nepal’s
population. There is a dire need for
medical supplies and shelter.

There is acute shortage of food
and shelter. The upcoming monsoon season is putting people in temporary make
shift shelter at more risk. There is grave risk of infectious disease outbreak
including dysentery, cholera, bronchitis and measles. Children are particularly
vulnerable.

Dr. Shrestha led a
medical mission trip to Nepal for two weeks. Below are photos from the Parker County Medical Society and Nepalese Society of
